According to the Greeting Card Association, 25% of all cards sent each year are “valentine”s. The “valentines”, as Valentine’s Day cards are better known as, are often designed with hearts to symbolize love. The Valentine’s Day card spread with Christianity, and is now celebrated all over the world. One of the earliest valentines was sent in 1415 AD by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife during his imprisonment in the Tower of London. The card is now preserved in the British Museum.

The finest art and the finest champagne and canapes were served. Thanks to Richard and Nicola at the gallary and all the staff. Special thanks to Heather and John for the fabulous food. One of the most amazing canapes we have ever tasted was the stuffed apricots with home made liver pate and Pistachio nuts. Just delicious!

RAF Cosford Air Show is one of the country’s top aviation events attracting thousands of people of all ages to a day full of excitement and entertainment.
As well as the flying display and static aircraft there was a children’s fun fair and Sunday market where Moda Jewellery had a big stand.
There was plenty to do inside with the indoor craft fair and the RAF Museum Cosford.
The Red Arrows, as always, were amazing. It sounded like the roof of the hanger was coming in, they were that loud!
All proceeds from the Air Show go to RAF and local charities. See you there next year!

The concept of Swishing is very simple, you bring with you (up to 5 each) ladies clothes, bags, shoes or jewellery items to swap and are allocated a sticker with the amount you can pick to take home!
For an extra £1 you can purchase a raffle ticket and be in with a chance to win some great brand new prizes, including a gorgeous Shambola bracelet from Moda Jewellery and lots of other goodies.
The event starts at 7pm with the girls setting up rails and dressing the tables with accessories. Moda Jewellery will have a table with gorgeous new items to accessorize your clothes.
Swishing will begin at 8pm for one hour. Make your selection and try them on and take them home. It’s as simple as that!
There’s plenty to sift through even if you’re not lucky enough to find anything in your size or style, it’s a brilliant way of promoting sustainable fashion through recycling.
The remaining goods are sold off to raise funds for Welcome Hills Special School.
At the last one I managed to bag myself four beautiful dresses and a pair of Hobbs shoes! Not bad for a night out working. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.

Swishing is the new craze to hit UK – YOU WILL LOVE IT. FREE clothes – what’s there not to love?!
After the success of the last party back in September, Lauren hopes to make the clothes swap parties a regular event at the bar. The concept is very simple, you bring with you any old ladies clothes, bags, shoes or jewellery items to swap and are allocated six items to pick from individually colour coded rails. If like me, you don’t have anything to swap and would just like to purchase a couple of items, then you can pay the entrance prime of £7.50 and get to take away the same six items. For an extra £1 you can purchase a raffle ticket and be in with a chance to win some great brand new prizes, this time including a bespoke designer tote bag, miniature bottle of pink champagne, make up set, cookery book and other goodies.
The event started at 1pm with the girls setting up rails and dressing the glass booth tables with accessories, cake stands filled with pink cupcakes and pink glasses with sweets in them, all very cute and girly. While the bar (and the glasses) filled up, ladies perused the rails. Once the bar was busy the ladies were given an hour slot for viewing and trying on, then when the items were selected, they were allocated to the customers, with time for the prize raffle draw.

Here’s baby Charlie and some of the nurses that looked after him on The Neonatal Ward, with the fantastic cheque that was raised by Moda for £2250.00
He has just spent another short stay on the ward and is recovering well again.
Thanks again to all our family and friends for all the help and support over the past few months when Charlie has been in and out of hospital – anyone with children will understand what a very emotional time it was.
The Ward would like to thank everyone for their kind generosity and has already spent to the money….. It has gone towards buying 3 new monitors for above the beds at the hospital.

We’re all going to be having a family Christmas day at home this year and then off for a short break until Janruary 3rd.
What a year 2010 has been! We have worked with some wonderful people this year. Weddings, births and parties have also made this year an eventful one for us. We couldn’t do it without our family and staff so a huge thank you to them all.
We are happy to report that our newest addition (Baby Charlie) is doing well and is very happy and healthy. He is truely adorable.
We wish all our fantastic staff , customers, friends and family a very Merry Christmas. We hope that everyone has their perfect Christmas and stays safe and warm and we look forward to seeing you in 2011.
Christmas Shopping was a delight this year at Chameleon Bar where we were helping to raise money for Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.
If you haven’t been to Chameleon yet you MUST. It’s a gorgeous place with great staff and music in the heart of Birmingham by The Town Hall. Even the snow didn’t stop the great turn out for this event. The ladies enjoyed a beautiful brunch and shopping afterwards with plenty of champagne flowing.
Thank you to everyone that supported The Ultimate Night Out at The Limes Hotel Earlswood. It was a fabulous evening of fun, tears and laughter. The total amount raised was a staggering £2550!
Our guests were met by Luke, Ben and Tom and welcomed with Bucks Fizz and goody bags.
All the shopping stalls did really well. Thanks to all the shopaholics! We had 250 guests attend and things got a liitle mad in the car park. Appolagies for that – it has been noted for next time!
The fashion show was amazing and 307 Designer Dress Agency sold EVERY ONE of the outfits on the catwalk that night. At those bargain prices we are not surprised. If you haven’t visited the shop – you must!

We felt very honored and privileged to be invited to The Show at The Birmingham Metropole Hotel organized by Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer. The tenth Anniversary of LFBC. An evening of true glamour, a stunning fashion show by survivors of breast cancer and truly moving stories. The auctions were amazing and our table were delighted to win The Apprentice and Nuthurst Grange.
The evening was hosted by Patron Lord Digby Jones and Mr Jimmy Franks. The entertainment was first class with Go West performing live and ‘Johnny Depp’ making a surprise guest appearance too.
The final figure raised has not been calculated yet but it must be in excess of £20,000.
A huge thanks you to everyone involved in making The Show possible. LFBC have a wonderful committee of lady volunteers who work tirelessly at all their events to make them fun and memorable occasions, while raising much needed funds to provide essential equipment for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

A fabulous fashion show by House Of Fraiser was enjoyed by over 80 ladies and a gorgeous lunch and champagne afternoon followed.

On August 20th Charlie Thomas Benham was born.Beautiful son to Nikki and Chris at Moda Jewellery. We were all devestated to discover that Charlie was born with a life threatening condition and he underwent surgery at The Children’s Hospital in Birmingham at 3 days old.
We are delighted to report that he is making a full recovery.
We would like to thank everyone at The Children’s Hospital for the fantastic work they do. Without them we wouldn’t have Baby Charlie. We are holding our next event to raise money for The Children’s Hospital Charity who help create modern and child-friendly environments; purchase state of the art medical equipment and fund research into the prevention and treatment of childhood illnesses.
